New Year, new skills.

Happy New Year from the London Printworks team! We thought it would be opportune to tell you about our upcoming Introduction to Printed Textiles courses coming up in the next two months.

We cannot recommend the Introduction course enough, it is the perfect way to step with ease into the world of fabric-based screen printing. The course suits anyone wanting to have some fun learning a new skill, developing an existing creative practice or with the plan to start a whole new career. Taught by leading artist and tutor Dawn Dupree, you will learn a variety of fabric print techniques. This course will create a grounding from which you can pursue your work on an independent basis.

Processes include: artworking, image on to screen exposure, bleaching/ discharge process, dye & polychromatic & heat transfer techniques.

Here is what the last group of course participants had to say:

“The course was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly staff.”

“There was nothing missing from the course – there was so much to learn, it was great.”

“It was excellent, will tell all my friends!”

Course cost:  £275 (this price is drastically less than cost price thanks to funding LPT receives from Arts Council and Lambeth Arts).

Dates:

28 Jan, 4, 11, 18, 25 Feb  (Saturday 10.30am – 4.30pm)

13 – 17 February  (Mon to Fri 10.30am – 4.30pm)

About London Printworks Trust

London Printworks Trust is the centre of excellence for textile print. Our passion has continued for twenty years since establishing ourselves as a charity to encourage professional artists, designers and emerging talent to learn, to share ideas, to produce new work and to fulfil their creative potential. Through our specialist hand printing equipment and workshop facilities we support and nurture creativity in people from the local community of Brixton, and across London. We are developing a new programme of residency places, courses, talks and new open access in response to the changes to funding. We appreciate and thank the support from our Board, Volunteers and Freelancers, without whom we would not have survived the changes to our funding. Continued support from The Leverhulme Trust and Lambeth also helps us to make a difference.
