LPT at The Lambeth Country Show

The LPT team were out and about at The Lambeth Country show 2011 in Brixton’s Brockwell Park this weekend. The show hosted everything great about the countryside, from flower and vegetable competitions and medieval jousting to dog shows in the main arena. There was a fantastic turn out at the show during the 16th-17th July, and a wonderful atmosphere.

We were lucky enough to be right next to the stage in the Cultivate zone surrounded by some of Lambeth’s finest art and dance groups getting everyone involved in various creative workshops. Despite the rain we were having a vivacious time in our tent creating prints with the residents of Lambeth in preparation for the London 2012 Olympics Bunting to be hung around Brixton town centre.

Sharing our tables with Audrey * selling her beautiful printed totes, lavender bags and purses made in the London Printwork Trust studios. We also had the pleasure of our in-house artist Sophie Herxheimer joining us selling her exclusive hankies ( a few still available at our studio), she was also on-hand to help inspire the guests creating imagery from fantastic stories.

It was a fun weekend and a great show, everyone seemed to be out braving the English country weather, getting muddy, messy and involved in all the show had to offer.

A big thanks to everyone who came down and participated, we were inundated with fantastic prints!

About London Printworks Trust

London Printworks Trust is the centre of excellence for textile print. Our passion has continued for twenty years since establishing ourselves as a charity to encourage professional artists, designers and emerging talent to learn, to share ideas, to produce new work and to fulfil their creative potential. Through our specialist hand printing equipment and workshop facilities we support and nurture creativity in people from the local community of Brixton, and across London. We are developing a new programme of residency places, courses, talks and new open access in response to the changes to funding. We appreciate and thank the support from our Board, Volunteers and Freelancers, without whom we would not have survived the changes to our funding. Continued support from The Leverhulme Trust and Lambeth also helps us to make a difference.
