Patternity: 2011 is all about taking pattern everywhere

London Printworks Trust will always be a sucker for good textiles hand-print. We can’t help it – it’s what we do! So when we bumped into a friend of Printworks at the very beginning of 2011 wearing these tights, we grilled the name Patternity out of them.

Developed with the ideals that ‘pattern is everywhere’ these limited edition tights for a mere £42 allow the wearer to proudly flaunt Patternity’s trademark design.

The website is a treasure trove of pattern and print, from fashion to interiors. We especially enjoyed the recent project A Tapestry of Dalston; a community project celebrating the mundane and the magnificent. The project brought together a cross-section of handpicked, Dalston-based creatives, each briefed to conceive and produce a pattern-based piece, taking inspiration from the many historical & cultural influences that the area encompasses. Displayed using unusual UV lighting created some fascinating results.

All worth a look!

About London Printworks Trust

London Printworks Trust is the centre of excellence for textile print. Our passion has continued for twenty years since establishing ourselves as a charity to encourage professional artists, designers and emerging talent to learn, to share ideas, to produce new work and to fulfil their creative potential. Through our specialist hand printing equipment and workshop facilities we support and nurture creativity in people from the local community of Brixton, and across London. We are developing a new programme of residency places, courses, talks and new open access in response to the changes to funding. We appreciate and thank the support from our Board, Volunteers and Freelancers, without whom we would not have survived the changes to our funding. Continued support from The Leverhulme Trust and Lambeth also helps us to make a difference.
